Bishops and clergy of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa take part in the Liturgy at the Lavra of the Trinity and St. Sergius

On August 24, 2025, the 11th Sunday after Pentecost, bishops and clergy of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa made a pilgrimage to the Lavra of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius.
Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov, abbot of the Lavra, presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition. Assisting him were Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa; Bishop Yevfimy of Lukhovitsy, a vicar of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa; employees of the Exarchate, brethren of the Lavra and deans of church districts of the North Africa and South Africa dioceses.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin greeted Bishop Kirill and the worshipers. Then Bishop Kirill delivered a sermon in which he called the flock to pray for the faithful in Africa and for the mission of the Russian Orthodox Church on the continent.
After the service, the pilgrims visited the Moscow Theological Academy, where they shared a fraternal meal, the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports.
Then, in the small assembly hall of the theological school, a meeting of the clergy of the Exarchate with Bishop Kirill took place. He shared his experience with the African clergymen and gave them pastoral advice.
After the talk, the pilgrims visited the Cathedral of the Trinity and venerated the holy relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh. A sightseeing tour followed, during which the clergy visited the churches of the Lavra and bell tower.
