On August 31, 2025, the 12th Sunday after Pentecost, a conciliar service was held at the Church of St. George of the Antiochian Patriarchate in Buenos Aires. The Divine Liturgy was led by the hierarch of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Santiago (James) of Buenos Aires and All Argentina, Bishop John of Caracas and South America (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia), and Bishop Leonid of Argentina and South America.
The archpastors were co-served by the clergy of the church, as reported by the Telegram channel of the Argentine Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Among those praying at the service were the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Argentina, Sami Salame, members of the parish council Elias Daghlave and Roberto Sacre, parishioners of the church, and guests of the Argentine capital.
The Liturgy was celebrated in Arabic, Spanish, and Church Slavonic.
After the service, the archpastors warmly greeted all those gathered and thanked them for the common prayer.
In his address to those present, Bishop Leonid emphasized the importance of the conciliar service that had taken place, which highlights the long-standing friendship and fraternal relations between the two Local Orthodox Churches, especially during the challenging times of modern trials.
