On 8th October 2025, after the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius Lavra that marked the commemoration day of St. Sergius the Wonderworker, Abbot of Radonezh, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ met with Mrs Tamara Vučić, spouse of the Serbian President. The meeting took place in the Chapel of St. Philaret the Merciful in the Lavra’s Patriarchal Chamber.
During their conversation, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill spoke highly of President Aleksandar Vučić’s work and personal traits, and assured the First Lady of his prayers for the President and people of Serbia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness presented to Mrs Vučić an icon of the Most Holy Mother of God.
Mrs Tamara Vučić thanked His Holiness for the meeting and presented him with a book about Serbia.
Among those taking part in the meeting were also Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, Representative of the Serbian Patriarch to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’; and Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, Adviser to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’.
