His Holiness Patriarch Kirill meets with representatives of Macedonian Orthodox Church in Holy Trinity and St. Sergius Lavra

On 8th October 2025, commemoration day of St. Sergius the Wonderworker, Abbot of Radonezh, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ received representatives of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. The meeting took place in the altar of the Holy Dormition Cathedral at the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius Lavra.
The delegation of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric included Metropolitan Peter of Prespa-Pelagonia, Speaker of the Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric; Bishop Nicholas of Velicki, Vicar of the Prespa-Pelagonia Diocese; and Hieromonk Athanasius (Arsosski), head of the Publications Department of the Skopje Diocese.
During their cordial conversation, His Holiness said he was very glad that as part of their pilgrimage to Russia, the representatives of the Macedonian Orthodox Church took part in the celebrations in honour of St. Sergius of Radonezh at the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius Lavra.
The participants in the meeting exchanged memorable gifts.
Among those present were also Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate; Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, Adviser to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’; and Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR Deputy Chairman.
